I began drawing blue-and-white porcelain several years ago, from a simple impulse to try drawing a piece of blue-and-white porcelain I had seen on the internet.
I enjoyed copying each piece, using blue colored pencils. Sometimes, after working on a painting with a heavy subject, I would draw blue-and-white porcelain without thinking, like a child in the third or fourth grade of elementary school simply tracing what she saw. In that way, blue-and-white porcelain became a small place of rest for me through painting.
Then, at some point, I began to wonder, "What if I designed one myself?" The blue-and-white porcelain that began as an exercise in imitation is now slowly transforming into an image of blue-and-white porcelain that I am creating in my own way.
